Case Studies
Time and Energy Efficiency + Sim Theory’s SDK
The Scenario
Simulation Theory demonstrates how much time and energy can be saved on both cloud and on-premise hardware when the SDK is used to maximize the parallel execution of media transcoding work.
The Results
Sim Theory’s SDK accomplished the same data transformation in around 1/10th of the time and achieved an average of 88.5% energy savings.
Video Transcoding + Sim Theory's SDK
The Scenario
Working with our client, Encant, Simulation Theory demonstrates how much more efficient the SDK can make a video transcoding process by unlocking the use of all available cores.
The Results
Sim Theory's SDK enabled the use of 16 cores, reducing the processing time in an AWS instance from 22.5 seconds to 1.9. This time savings negated the need to design and produce custom hardware.
Thumbnail Generation + Sim Theory’s SDK
The Scenario
Working with our client, Perception Grid, Simulation Theory demonstrates how integrating our SDK into an existing open source solution enhances the performance of Perception Grid's spatial AI solution.
The Results
Magick.NET with the Sim Theory SDK integration reduced total execution time by 92.99%.
MACD + The Sim Theory Scheduler
The Scenario
Simulation Theory demonstrates how much a stand-alone implementation of the Sim Theory Scheduler can improve upon the performance of a publicly available, common implementation of an algorithm. We chose the MACD (Moving Average Convergence Divergence) algorithm used to show stock market trends.
The Results
The common MACD implementation processed about 35MB of data in under 18 seconds. Sim Theory's implementation processed 10,800MB of data in 2.5 seconds.
CNeRF + The Sim Theory Scheduler
The Scenario
Simulation Theory demonstrates how an application already using an optimized framework can benefit from a minimal code impact, top-level integration with Sim Theory’s proprietary Scheduler technology. We chose CNeRF, a C++ implementation of neural radiance fields.
The Results
By integrating Sim Theory's scheduler, CPU utilization improved 39.47% and reduced processing time by 31.8%
CNeRF Revisited + The Sim Theory Scheduler
The Scenario
Building on our original CNeRF work, Simulation Theory demonstrates how the performance boost from integrating our Scheduler compares to other publicly available threading and scheduling solutions.
The Results
When implementing Sim Theory's scheduler and Intel's oneTBB under identical conditions, Sim Theory beat oneTBB's performance by 11.9%
